CHINA INVEST $46 MILLION FOR ZIMBABWE’S NEW PARLIAMENT BUILDING

At a meeting with Zimbabwean investment minister, Obert Mpofu, China committed to funding $46 million towards the construction of a new building in Mount Hampden, about 11 miles away from the capital Harare for the Zimbabwean parliament. The funds account for the first portion towards the construction of the building.

China and Zimbabwe’s close friendship extends over many years and China is one of Zimbabwe’s prime trading partners. China have invested into several projects such as the current one to help develop Zimbabwe, recently Mpofu revealed to the Herald that China had “submitted priority projects” that must be focused on the near future.

The economic development of Zimbabwe is looking promising with the possibility of the reintroduction of the Zimbabwean dollar and an expansion on the Zimbabwe’s parliamentary building holding over 300 members, Zimbabwe are looking towards a bright future, with China by their side.
